Thaddeus Perrin was in co H of the 20th Iowa infantry. The 20th was involved at Prairie Grove and later at Vicksburg. As far as hopkinton having records, I don't know. The Park Service is supposed to have access to records if you know the name and unit. I believe at Shiloh you can use their computers to get records.
