Seeking firsthand accounts, diary entries, reports from the 10th Iowa Inf. from the early November 1861 time period. Around Nov. 4-7, they were sent from Cape Girardeau, MO. to Bloomfield, MO. I don't think they saw 'any action' but I am trying to find out more about the march, any descriptions of the town and its residents, what they thought of the small town, Jeff Thompson, etc. A second Union force reached the town the next day as the Iowas were pulling out. I am interested if there was any interaction between the two. Thanks! (please drop me a e-mail, I may never be able to find this board again!)
