Residence: Fremont County, IA. 22 years old. Enlisted on 11/17/64 as a Private. On 11/17/64 he substituted into "E" Company, IA 13th Infantry. He was mustered out on 7/21/65 at Louisville, KY. (Substitute for Amos Cox)

The State of Iowa provided more men in relation to its population than any other state. Approximately 53% of its 143,528 men between the age of 15 and 40 enlisted in the Union cause.
