The book that you are talking about.....Vol. 3 of the "Roster and Record of Iowa Soldiers in the War of the Rebellion" isn't avaliable for sale....well not really. It was printed in 1910 in Des Moines Iowa, and has never been reprinted. The only ones you will find out there are in libraries/special collections and in Historical socities.

There are six volumes in this set, and I have only seen one book out of the six up for sale once on an auction. I think it went for like $275. But you just can't find them for sale at all. They are rare and valuable.

If you live in Iowa, a local college or university should have them, or check with the library and see if they know where a set is located.
