There is a book published about the 4th Iowa Cavalry, "The Story of a Cavalry Regiment. The Career of the 4th Iowa Veteran Volunteers." This is a very good book but unfortunately I purchased an original copy for $300 before I realized there was a reprint. (I had two uncles in the 4th Iowa Cavalry, Billy & Ol Bereman.)
