I have finished my manuscript of a book based on family letters during the Civil War, primarily from my gg grandfather who was in the 1st Iowa Infantry and the 25th Iowa Infantry. Battles and campaigns include Wilson's Creek, Vicksburg, Chattanooga, Atlanta, March to the Sea, Occupation of Savanah, March through the Carolinas, Grand Review in Washington. The letters are very personal, and include dramatic references to slavery and other topics. I am looking to find a couple of Iowa Civil War experts to provide a review before presenting to publishers. Currently the book is 328 pages.
