There were no Iowa regiments engaged in the Battle of Gettysburg. Nor have I run across the names of anyone who fought in the battle who claims to have been from Iowa. The fact is that most Iowan's who fought did so in the "western theatre"-plases like Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama & Georgia.

This is not to say that soldiers who fought at Gettysburg didn't move to Iowa after the war, however. Fellow Iowa Civil War buffs-am I generally right?
