I'm Looking for the infantry this ancestor B.B. Frase served in. I have discharge papers stating he was a QMS in an Iowa Volunteers Infantry Company B and mustered out June 15, 1865. Any ideas?

Thanks

I am looking for information about Private Israel Rupe, born in Gallia County, Ohio but served with the 7th Calvary in the Civil War. I do not know much of anything about him, except he was shot in the hip and his feet froze but he survived and died in May of 1910. Possibly the IA for state might mean Indiana rather than Iowa. I am new at this, so I don't know for sure.
