Thanks for any advice, Tracie email: [email protected] Re: 4th Iowa CavalryFrom: [email protected] CommentsMy great grandfather, Dewilda C. Jackson and his brother Orlando Jackson, both enlisted at Mount Pleasant, Iowa in the 4th Iowa Volunteer Cavalry. They were from Ft. Madison, Iowa. Re: 37th Infantry - Greybeard Regiment - Hiram Shepcott MARBLEFrom: Bob CommentsI found a 37th Regiment button using my metal detector on the Auglaize River, Auglaize co Ohio. The button is in very good condition. On the front is ribbon at the top cascading down both sides to surround a British crown with the #37 below the crown. Below the #37 is a leaf design going up both sides of the button more than half way up. On the reverse side of the button the eyelet is fully entact. Surrounding the inside of the button is the makers name and address. L Nutting & Son Covent.Garden King St. The button was silver guild but does not say so on the button. More than half of the silver still remains. Does any one out there have any information about this 37th regiment button or know where I can find any information on it. Thank You Bob, [email protected] Last changed: October 21, 2002 |
