My great grandfather Sgt W.A. Bucher and his brother Abraham were both in the 14th Co. D. I know what became of W.A. Bucher, but know nothing of Abraham. Did he survive? Was he taken prisoner at the "Hornets Nest? Does anyone know? Thanks for any info David C. Bauer Re: Iowa 7th CalvaryFrom: Tom CommentsI also had an ancestor in the Iowa 7th Calvary. I just learned of a book entitled "The Indian War of 1864" with was written by a man in the 7th. Haven't read it yet but am told that it is considered a classic and even a collectible book. Tom Wm.
