Having just returned from a tour of the Nat'l Military Park in Vicksburg I am trying to gather info on an ancestor who as family history says was in the civil war. What little info I have is that he was mustered out in Houston, Tx. As far as I have been able to tell, he was either in the 34th, or the 38th Iowa regiment, but I have not been able to find his name in any rosters. The name is James Wakefield. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Don

Have found good information about Blackhawk Co Co's B,C etc. but would like info on Co A. I think a lot of them were from Linn Co.
