Does anyone know how I can find out what regiment my ancestor, Lewis LYTLE would have been in if he enlisted in the Civil War from Clarke Co., IA? I know he and his two brothers were in battles in Arkansas and that Lewis died 24 Oct 1864 in the U.S. Army General Hospital, Jefferson Barracks, St. Louis, MO while serving in the army. His two brothers were mustered out at the end of the war in Arkansas. Lewis LYTLE would have been 30 years old when he died.
