I am searching for any information on this company, that is the list of the members, where they fought, any general reports, etc., but most of all I'm looking for information on a JAMES G. WILSON. The info I have so far is his residence was Cedar Rapids, nativity Vermont, enlisted Dec. 20, 1861, as Eighth Corporal. Mustered March 24, 1862. Wounded April 6, 1862, Shilo, Tenn. Promoted Fifth Sergeant. Deserted Sept. 15, 1862, on march from Bolivar, Tenn., to Corinth, Miss. This was given to me by Mr. Jeff Patrick of Wilson's Creek National Battlefield, MO. If James was an Eighth Corporal when he joined, he must have been in another regiment before. I'm looking for info if it's true. Also, there is a story about a friend a Mr. Kelly that was in the 16th also. I'm looking for him also. I have been told James is my ancestor. However I can't prove it. I would like to know if there might be photographs of the 16th regiment and any individual photo's of the men. This way I might be able to identify him. I have an old picture of him after the war, however, not in uniform. I appreciate any help and gladly welcome any suggestions.
