I would like to know where I can find information on the Iowa 7th Calvary. My Great-Grandfather was with this group in Kansas during the war. Any information would be appreciated.

There is a Hiram S. Marble who was born in New York listed with the 37th. His residence at the time of enlistment was Iowa City, Iowa and his age was 52 years old. He enlisted on 10/9/62 as a 5th Sergeant. On 10/31/62 he mustered into "D" Company, Iowa 37th Infantry. He was discharged for disability on 1/5/65 at Cincinnati, Ohio. His promotions were as follows: 4th Sergeant 3/1/63; 3rd Sergeant 10/27/63; 1st Sergeant 11/16/63; 2nd Sergeant 4/8/64 (Reduced); Private 8/18/64 (Reduced to ranks).
