Henry and Josiah Brown
Oliver, Samuel and Emanual Beckwith
James H. and Samuel Kelly
George W. and Hiram Littell
John W and Andrew McMeans
Alfred M. and Francis P. Norton
George C. and Levi l. Pierce
Samuel D. and Charles H. Townsend

William M. and Robert L. Thompson
John R. and Joseph Markle
This company left Maquoketa, Iowa, August 10, 1861, with 82 privates, 3 commissioned and 16 non-commissioned officers. Thirty-five recruits were added to the company during the war. The company had eight commissioned officers during the war, viz.: A. W. Drips, F. M. Kelsey, A. Alexander, Asher Riley, Benjamin Darling, John H. Green, Leonard Martin and Charles Lyman.
At our regimental reunion in Dubuque, Iowa, in June, 1901, there were 81 present. Capt. J. W. Niles of Sterling, Ill., and W. M. Trout of Maquoketa, Iowa, were re-elected president and secretary, respectively. It was left with these officers to name the place and dates for holding the next reunion
* The within names marked with a star shows the original members of the company
In case of death of any member please notify the secretary so that he may inform the remaining members of the company.
[And this note was also included:]
Dear Comrade:
I have been to considerable expense in compiling and postage on this souvenir, and if you feel disposed to help me out in this, you may, if you feel so disposed, send me 25 cents to help defray the expense of the same. If you have not received "The Three Old Soldiers Carrying the 9th Iowa Flag to the State Capitol," and will let me know, I will be glad to send it to you.
As ever, your Comrade,
W. M. Trout.
