They were married in Iowa. He was age 42 and she was 17. Four children were born to this marriage: Ludwig David, Friedrich (William) Wilhelm, Conrad Edward, and Louisa. Conrad died in 1863. Member of McKnight Post GAR #491 in Derby, IA & Iseminger Post #18 at Chariton IA. Awarded Civil War Badge by GAR. Died 6 aug 1901 in Chariton, Lucas Co., IA. Had 10 children: Florence Amanda b. 1853 (m. Samuel McKlveen), Catharine Virgina b. 1855(m. Jess Linn), Emaline Lusetta b. 1857 (m. Harvey Roadman), Clara Ida b. 1859(m.
