I am looking for information on how I can find out more about Orphan trains that came to areas around Guthrie County between 1895-1900. My Grandfather's family was sent on an orphan train from New York City and I have found the adoptive family in Guthrie County Iowa, but because it was almost 100 years ago, they have no details or information. Can anyone help me? Is there any kind of an index of children who were sent to Iowa on the orphan trains?

Thank you. [email protected]

I found a post that I may have information for, with no email address included. How would I go about contacting this person directly? The post was headed "Looking for father's family" - would either someone please enlighten me or the author please contact me at [email protected]? Thanks
