Muscatine Co Civil War VetsFrom: Susie Martin-Rott CommentsI am currently working on a database of Muscatine Co. Civil War Veterans. If you have an ancestor who either enlisted in Muscatine in the Civil War or who served in the Civil War and is buried in Muscatine County (regardless of where they served from) I would appreciate hearing from you. So far I have 2200 names but not nearly all the burial sites. Primary Iowa units having Muscatine men were: 1st IA Infantry staff, Co A,C 7th IA Infantry Co A, 8th IA Infantry Co B 11th IA Infantry Staff, Co A, D, H, I 16th IA Infantry Co C,E, F 18th IA Infantry Co E, K 35th IA Infantry Staff, Co A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I 37th IA Infantry Co B 44th IA Infantry Co B 2nd IA Cavalry Staff, Co A, G 8th Ia Cavalry Co K 9th IA Cav Co A Some men from other companies within these units and a few IL units also entered through Muscatine. If your ancestor was in one of these units we are trying to document their date and place of birth, dates enlisted or mustered in, rank at enlistment, discharge dates, promotions they received, death date and place, burial location and spouses name/date of marriage I regret I cannot offer open lookups on this database at this time due to time constraints but if you submit a soldier who is on the list will send you any additional info I have on them. I've promised the listings of the burial sites within Muscatine Co to a non-profit group doing monument restoration so PLEASE, if you know where a Civil War soldier is buried in Muscatine Co let us know. help with birth recordsFrom: [email protected] Commentsi'm looking for the birth record for one Barbara Ann Fhonberger or Fhonburger born May 1st of 1905 in Boone, Iowa.
