John died in 1887 and Mary died in 1873. They are both buried in the "Bethel Church" cemetery which his obituary states is in Mt. Pleasant. Any information would be welcome. Fred Thorn fought with the 5th Iowa Cavalary. Moses Jenkins was killed at the battle of Arkansas Post.Fred in turn married his widow, Deborah VanWart Jenkins. They had two sons; Lamont Eugene(my grandfather) and Moses. I also know that many of Fred's family moved to Iowa, including his Mother, Ann Little Thorn and some of his siblings and or half siblings. They were German Lutheran and lived in Scotch Grove, IA abt.1895. The names are George & Elsie b.1847 &1854 (parents), Heinrich, John, Anna b.1892, 1888, 1896.
