Are they accessible? I have the adoption papers for my grandmother from there but don't know where the mother BAKEMAN, MILDRED J. was from or who the father was. Patrick Neary family in DubuqueFrom: [email protected] CommentsPatrick and his wife, Mary (Dolan) had 7 daughters and at least one son. The oldest child was born around 1870-75. Three of the daughters were nurses in in WW1. The names of the daughters were-Kate, Mary(Mel),Isabelle (Belle), Margaret, Josephine, Agnace, and Ruby. The son was named James (Jay). Belle married John Donahue and lived in Dubuque until the early 1920's.She and her siste Kate were both school teachers in dubuque and Belle taught in Chicago in her later years. Both Agnace and Kate lived at a place called Mary of the Angels (in Dubuque) when they retired and Margaret and Josephine lived their last years at a VA home in (possibly) Clinton Iowa. Mary married a man named James Ahern. Josephine married Bernard Dugan and lived in Nebraska in the early part of the century. Fred Thorn fought with the 5th Iowa Cavalary. Moses Jenkins was killed at the battle of Arkansas Post.Fred in turn married his widow, Deborah VanWart Jenkins. They had two sons; Lamont Eugene(my grandfather) and Moses. I also know that many of Fred's family moved to Iowa, including his Mother, Ann Little Thorn and some of his siblings and or half siblings. After the Civil War Fred and Deborah moved to Minnesota. Any information would be appreciated Obit look-up for a death in Jefferson Twp., Poweshiek Co. May 23, 1900From: George J.
