I have ancestors named HILL who lived in Iowa. JOSIAH N. HILL born in Iowa- July 1854. He married Susan Lardy. They had three children. JOSEPH, WILLIAM, ANABEL. JOSEPH was born in Dubuque county. Any connection?

Pierre Pellerin, also known as Peter Pelroy. Married Catherine Cassidy. Lived in Dubuque County, Iowa in 1850. They are listed in the census there. Surnames were spelled differently in all cases. Cassedy, Cassidy, Casady, Pellerin, Pelroy, Petrow, Pelrow, are just a few. Baptismal Register at St. Raphael Cathedral, Dubuque, Iowa has listed Joseph Pellerin, b. 7/16/1848. Mary Ann Pellerin b. 4/02/1850. There were also children born later. Ellen, Philomene, and Catherine. Most of the Pellerin/Pelroy family ended up in South Dakota by 1860.
