Ottosen, Govig, Thompsan, Pederson (Hill) Families, Humbolt County and the town of OttosenFrom: [email protected] CommentsAnyone with ties to these family names please contact me. Lived in Iowa in the towns of Badger, Fort Dodge and Ottosen from approx. 1863-1911. The Peter Govig family settled in Creston, Ogle County, Illinois. All of these have links to the family of Otto Jenaness 1825-1863=Aasa Romsaland (Elsie Ottosen) 1826-1911 Also to the family of Per Pederson (Peter Hill)1825-1875=Anna Karena Hille(Caroline Hill) 1826-1911. I have all of the descendants from these two families through late 1950's-early 1960's. I would like to continue the work that has been passed along and share with any other family members. I will have the entier text in Word format soon. Re: McCarthy, Bradford, AbramsFrom: [email protected] CommentsI have Abrams family that moved to Iowa about1830 from Ohio. If so e-mail me at [email protected] Elvin Marion DentFrom: [email protected] CommentsI am desperate for some help. We have been looking for this family for years and get just little bits at a time. We have found thru mlitary records Elvin Marion Dent joined the Civil War from Powershiek County, Iowa, but am unable to find his family there. Library suggested checking the surrounding area as he may have lived elsewhere and signed up there. He was married to a Martha Dixon (Dickson) daughter of Caroline Dixon - Husband? Widow? They had a son but for some reason she left with another man while he was at war and left the baby with her mother Caroline. Martha died within a year or so and Elvin got the baby after he returned from the war. I think they called the baby Willie Dent. Can anyone help me???
