Looking for Civil War RootsFrom: [email protected] CommentsI'm try to trace-down the military records of a Civil War ancester that died at Gettysburg. Doe's anyone happen to know where Coalfield or Kolona, Iowa once existed? My great-grandfather was born in Coalfield in 1876. He was later married in Kolona in 1900. If I can locate his birth certificate or marriage certificate, it would make my search a lot easier. Thanks. CHALLYFrom: [email protected] CommentsResearching the CHALLY surname. CampbellFrom: Todd Miller CommentsLooking for the husband of "Belle or Bell." She was either the wife of former Lieutenant Governor Frank Campbell, or Newton lawyer and Newspaperman Angus Campbell. Angus lived most of his life in Newton, Jasper County, and Frank later moved to Des Moines (I think) I need to know who she married and a citation including page numbers and such. I am having a diary published on Angus and Frank's brother who was in the 5th Iowa Infantry during the Civil War. Any help you could lend would be most appreciated.
