Have some Lee names from Iowa, maybe we could exchange and find out if from same family tree. Herbert James KANEFrom: [email protected] CommentsI am searching for any information on my paternal grandfather, Herbert James KANE. My father was born on 12/24/20, in Carroll, Iowa. On his birth certificate, it lists his father's name as Herbert James KANE, age 36, occupation salesman, born in Michigan. My father was told when he was 3, his father disappeared. We have learned later than he and his mother divorced. His mother's name was Cora (Farmer) Kane, born in Iowa. Her mother's maiden name was Mary Menesee. We believe that Herbert James Kane was an orphan, raised by an aunt in Iowa. His birth mother's name was supposed to be Parker. Cora Kane met Herbert James Kane in Richland Iowa, so possibly they were married there. If my father's birth certificate is correct,he would have been born around 1884. Also, someone on my father's side of the family invented a washing machine in Newton, Iowa and had quite a sizeable estate at his death. If anyone has any information on any of these names, I would appreciate a response. You can E-Mail me at [email protected]. Thanks in advance. Frank S.
