My For(e)man ancestors (William Henry and his wife Sophia Ann) lived their lives in Keokuk from 1850 through 1897. Can anyone direct me to research areas in Lee County or elsewhere for pertinent documents (obituary, death notice, etc.) They had ten children: Charles Henry, Harry, Frank, George, Sarah Belle, Alice J., Charlotte A., Ida, Emma and William S. Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for information on my ggrandfather - English born, George McKinder, who was born in Heitman, Iowa. I do not see Heitman on the map. Can anyone tell me where it was or what it is now named? George was a Coalminer who later moved to Dike, Iowa (Blackhawk County) to be near several of his sons (my grandfather)
