Watson who grew up in Lee Co and served in Co I, 15th Iowa Infantry during the Civil War. He was my great grandfather. Charles Bowen Hodges was born 1857-1880 in Waterloo Iowa. He married in Waterloo, Oct 13 1898, to Imogene Burt (b. 1876). Imogene's parents were Adin Burt (b 1842) and Almira Burnham (b. 1845) but I have no idea where they hailed from. Within two years of this marriage the couple had moved to Pittsburgh. I have recently discovered that Robert Newall and wife Isabella nee Wilson came to Adams county circa 1860. I have a note that Robert's mother Jean died Douglas township Adams county 11th May 1874 age 62. Robert and isabella had at leas one child ISABELLE NEWALL who married 1877 in Nodaway Iowa. I would love to find out more about this family. How can I access the 1870 census records or find out what other children were born/married etc?
