Sailor FamilyFrom: [email protected] CommentsI have a copy of an article written in the Relics and Reminiscenses paper dated 4-21-33 that lists a Dr. Alexis Sailor as having died a number of years ago in Montrose, Iowa. Where is or was Montrose? Dr. Sailor had a son Alexis. Both of these would be descendants of Jonathan and Lucinda Sailor...there were several siblings of Dr. Alexis (possibly Aluscois or Alexas): John M., James E., George M. m. Narcissa A. Sawyer, Richard Allen m. Caroline Elizabeth Reynolds(my gr gr Grandparents), Nancy E., Mary Isabelle m. Moses Hopkins, Elizabeth, Lucy J., Davaid A., Jonathan. I am looking for any family members or anyone with any knowledge of Dr. Alexis Sailor. I really need to know where Montrose, Iowa was and what county. This site is great and thank you. Did you find the Genoa Bluffs cemetery? It is actually in Iowa County, Iowa. My ancestors (Lewis Family) were some of the founding pioneers of Genoa Bluffs. I am typing this from the office, so my info is off the top of my head. I have newspaper articles about Genoa Bluffs (at home) and would be happy to be of assistance. Some relatives in Marengo, Iowa, took me on tour of Genoa Bluffs (now a ghost town) a few years ago (about 1992).
