IOWA ENERGY INFORMATION
State of Iowa Iowa produces electricity from hydroelectric power and nuclear power to help meet State energy requirements. However, coal, petroleum, and natural gas provide the key sources of energy for the State. Iowa is 27th in the Nation in energy consumption while ranking 17th in coal use.
