File: 1831-11 Deeds, Philip to John-warning.wpd

This is addressed to Mr. John Deeds, Butler County, North Sewickley, Pa, Nov. 14. John was apparently not married at this time (he would have been 25 years old.) The July 3 1836 letter from G.W. Roberts to John Deeds advises him to get himself a respectable woman, and John’s first born, Tirzah, was not born until 1839. This may have something to do with the legal action brought by Deborah in 1829 (see the letter of March, 1829 from Jesse to Deborah). (PS 1999)

November the 13. A.D. 1831

To Mr. John Deeds this day to inform you that I have sent you word to come to see me . Now I write to you and if you don’t come immediately, I will send for you, I have not forgot the wrong you done me.

I rise and add no more at present.

Philip Deeds
